Welcome to Arizona Fear Volleyball Club, the top club in Arizona for Boy's Volleyball. We are focused solely on the growth and development of boys volleyball in The Valley! 

​This page will help to break down information for our 2024 Fall Season Tryout, and help with most of the questions you might have for the upcoming season. There will also be an opportunity to register in advance at the bottom of this page. We are looking forward to another great year at AZ Fear, and look forward to some great things happening for Arizona volleyball. 

About Fear

Established in 2006, Arizona Fear began with the goal of training players with the tools to help them prepare for the next level, and to compete in the highest level of competition. Now entering our 18th year in the valley, we as a club have established ourselves as the home of elite boys volleyball players in Arizona.

Fear began with 3 total teams, and had won only 3 club national bronze medals in its first 10 years;  in 2013, 2014, and 2015. Since 2018, Arizona Fear now has 15 total teams, 40+ national-level medals, and more than 115+ athletes who have gone on to play at the college level. 2023/2024 Recap

Thank you to everyone who made last season such a great success! Special shout-out to all the players, families and coaches who helped contribute to a fantastic year. Yet again, our club showed what makes us the top club in The Valley after a great year & summer showing. Not only did we represent at the Regional level, but we displayed success Nationally with consistent finishes in Chicago, So-Cal, & the National Championships in Florida.

Over the course of this year we had 14 teams compete in the Fall AZ Region, 4 - 14U teams compete in the spring, and 9 teams  that went to AAU Nationals in Orlando. In Region Championships, our teams finished with 6 medals, 3 Gold (18JB, 17TD, 16TS) 3 Silver (16RM, 15SB, 14JS).

National Tournament Finishes
Chi-Town Challenge: 2 Gold (14JS, 17SL), 1 Silver (16RM), & Top 10 (16TS, 17TD)
Winter Formal: 1 Gold (17 SL), 1 Silver (14 JS) & 3 Bronze (18 EC, 16 RM, 15 JL), & 2 Top-10 finishes (18 JB, 17 TD).
Open Championships: 1 Silver (17 SL), 1 Bronze (18 EC), 4 Top-10 finishes (18 JB, 16 TS, 16 RM, 15 JL).
The Showcase: 3 Bronze (17 SL, 16 RM, 15 JL) & 2 Top-10 Finishes (18 JB, 17 TD)

AAU Nationals - We sent 9 AZ Fear teams to Florida to compete against the best in the country. We finished with one Bronze Medal (14 JS - 14 Premier), 2 Top 5 Finishes (18 JB - 18 Open / 16 RM - 16 Premier) and 2 Top 15 Finishes (17 SL - 17 Premier / 15 JL - 15 Elite).

Tryout Format

**PARENT ATTENDANCE REQUIRED AT END OF TRYOUTS** (STAGGERED TIMES)

• Parents MUST ATTEND the tryout meeting at the end of each tryout session. Tryout meetings will be done at the end of age group's tryout. 
• Parents will have to attend parent meeting, to fill out paperwork. 
• Players must enter the gym with all tryout documents prior to trying out. (documents will be loaded onto website soon, and will be posted below).

Tryout times will be staggered, in order to help for a smooth transition and registration. To register, find the age group at the bottom of this page. 
17s/18s 
Check-In: 6:30 - 7:00 AM
Tryout: 7:00 AM - 8:30 AM
Parent Meeting: 8:30 AM - 9:00 AM 

15s/16s 
Check-In: 8:30 AM - 9:00 AM 
Tryout: 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM 
Parent Meeting: 10:30 AM - 11:00 AM

14& Under
Check-In: 11:30 AM - 12:00 PM 
Tryout: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM 
Parent Meeting: 1:00 PM - 1:30 PM

Teams will be forming throughout tryouts, and parent meetings will be taking place. Parents, also please bring a form of payment, whether that is cash, check, or paying by card online (online payment will be a tab on website)

Tournaments/Travel Info

• ALL  AZ Fear teams will compete in the Arizona Region Tournaments (9/21, 9/28, 10/12, 10/26, 11/9, 12/7)
• The expectation is that all Arizona Fear Travel Teams will be attending 5 out of state tournaments in the 2024/2025 Season: 
  • SoCal Cup - November 23-25th (Long Beach CC)
  • Winter Formal - December 13th-15th (Location TBA) 
  • The Open Championships: January 18th-20th (Los Angeles CC) (15-18 Travel Teams Only) 
  • The Equinox: March 8th-9th (AIM Sports Complex) (14 JS Only) 
  •  The Showcase: June 13th-15th (Los Angeles CC)
  • AAU Boys Nationals: Dates and Waves TBD (Orange County CC)
• All 5 out-of-state tournaments this year will be AAU Events. 
• Our travel and regional team fees will be found under "pricing" on this page. ​

PRACTICES

14 JS and all 15's-18's Teams will practice at both Inspire Courts and Brophy High School. 1 practice at each location each week. 

West Valley 14's- both practices will be at Brophy High School.

East Valley 14's- both practices will be at Inspire Courts

Travel Teams

The following teams will be considered travel teams, and will follow the pricing outlined below. 
18 JB, 18 CT, 17 JG, 17 EC, 16 LL, 16 CA, 15 SB, 15 RM, 14 JS

15 DT, 16 DT, 14 DG and 13 LS

**ALL TEAMS WILL BE OFFERED OPTIONS FOR ADDITIONAL TRAVEL & PRICING A FEW WEEKS AFTER TRYOUTS**

Tryout & Start Up Fees

There is a nonrefundable $20.00 tryout fee.  If your son makes a team, you will be responsible for paying the start-up fee, and setting up the remaining season's monthly dues. 

Depending on the team you make, at tryouts you are committing to either the entire fall season (August-December), or for the entire club season (August 2023-July 2024). If you are committing to the club season, there will be a season contract at tryouts which will outline the cost breakdown/commitment. For a full breakdown of season dues, please click here.

Arizona Fear is moving forward with Imperial Point for our uniforms this year. All players will receive two jerseys, two pair of shorts, polo, hoodie  and a Lost Traveler backpack.
