Huge congratulations to Fear Club Director, Troy Dueling, on winning his second State Championship, his second title in 3 years! The Boulder Creek Jaguars finished off the season with an outstanding 45-2 record, beating the Perry Pumas in an riveting 4 set match on May 14, 2016. The scores of the final match were 17-25, 25-17, 28-26, and 25-21.
Fear Libero Grady O'Neill led the match in digs for the night, racking up a season-high 38 digs, scooping up just about everything Perry swung near him. Middles Cooper Salmen and Ryan Serrano formed a wall at the net, with Cooper Salmen finishing off set 3 with the game winning block, bringing Boulder Creek to a 2-1 lead on the night.. Fear players Bryce Whitman, Patrick Ross, and Liam Santa Cruz (AIA Division I Player of the Year) led the Boulder Creek attack, with the offense called by Fear Setter, Andrew DeLeon. Liam Santra Cruz led the team in kills with 20, and Bryce Whitman finished the night strong, going for 16 kills on only 29 attempts. Click here for the link to the AZ Central article
