Welcome to AZ Fear, the premier club in AZ for Boy's Volleyball. We are focused solely on the growth and development of boys volleyball in AZ, as we do not have a girls side of the club. we are very excited about some new upgrades and additions this season.

​This page should help to break down information for the Fall Season Tryout, and help with most of the questions you might have for the upcoming season. There will also be an opportunity to register in advance at the bottom of the page. We are looking forward to another great year at AZ Fear, and look forward to some great things happening for Arizona volleyball.

Tryout Format

**NEW FORMAT FOR PARENT ATTENDANCE- STAGGERED TIMES**
  • Parents will not be able to attend the tryout until the end. 
  • Parents will have times staggered for when they may enter, to maintain protocols. 
  • Parents will enter only to have parent meeting, with paperwork collections. 
*PARENTS ATTENDING MEETINGS WILL BE REQUIRED TO WEAR A MASK*

Tryout times will be staggered, in order to help for a smooth transition and registration. To register, find the age group at the bottom of your page. 
  • 15's/16's- 8-9:30
  • 17's/18's- 11-12:30
  • 14 & under- 2-3:30

Teams will be forming throughout tryouts, and parent meetings will be taking place. Parents, also please bring a form of payment, whether that is check, card, or cash.

Coaching Staff

Below you will see our list of elite coaches on staff, each with a number of accomplishments. 

Our coaching staff has the top coaches in AZ &  CA, including some division i & naia coaches, and players who have competed at the collegiate or professional level. Many of our coaches on staff have coached multiple teams to medals in the national championships,  won state championships, runners-up, and final fours.

Tony Oldani (Brophy)- National Champion (18 club, 2019), 3x state champion ('98, '03 & '06), 2x state runner-up ('12 & '15)

Tournament Schedule

Tournaments/Travel Info

  • ALL AZ Fear teams will compete in the Arizona Region Tournaments
  • Due to these uncertain times, we will address the travel opportunities as we come closer to bid tournament season (conversation to occur in November/December)
  • Depending on travel restrictions, all  teams will also attend the Southern California Classic Tournament in December
  • The expectation is that all Fear Travel Teams (1's and 2's) teams will be attending both qualifiers, as well as nationals (more info coming November/December)
  • Our travel tournament charges/fees would not be assessed until November/December.
  • 18-1, 18-2, 17-1, 17-2, 16-1, 16-2, 15-1 & 15-2 will be considered travel teams. ​​

PRACTICES

*with limited access to high schools, we will start with all practices at Spiral without restrictions. Once we get more information on school protocols, we plan to resume practices at Brophy Prep. 
All teams- To begin season, all teams will practice solely at Spiral. 
West Valley 14's- Our 14-west team will practice out of Revolution, off i17 and Pinnacle Peak.  (*THIS TEAM WILL STILL  TRY OUT AT SPIRAL*)

PRICING & TOURNAMENTS

There is a nonrefundable $10.00 tryout fee.  If your son makes a team, we will charge all players the regional startup fee price of $550 due on August 29th, as our travel tournament charges would not be assessed until November/December. During the months of September-December, there will be 4 more payments required of $200, for a total of $1350 for the fall regional season.

By committing to AZ Fear at tryouts, you are committing to the entire fall season, which includes all club fees for the entire fall season that will be detailed in your season contract. UNIFORMS

Arizona Fear is moving forward with Imperial Point & Adidas for the uniforms this year. All players will receive two jerseys, two  pair of shorts, long sleeve, and a backpack. 

15's/16's Tryout Info

**TRYOUTS FOR BOTH EAST & NORTHWEST TEAMS WILL BE AT SPIRAL**
WHO- 14's (all junior high and below age)

REGISTRATION TIME- 1:30-2 pm
TRYOUT TIME- 2-3:30 pm
PARENT MEETINGS/UNIFORMS-  start at 3:45 pm (*parents will be allowed to enter building at this exact time)

    14 & Under Tryout (will try out at spiral for either team)
